Terms of Use

Effective date: 26 October 2026

1. Parties and acceptance

These terms are between you and Ekin Barış Çakır (Sevgi Mahallesi 665 Sokak 7/6 Gaziemir İzmir Türkiye, chopsmith@ekinbariscakir.com), who provides Chopsmith; Apple is not a party to them. By using Chopsmith you accept these terms and the Privacy Policy.

Because you got Chopsmith from the App Store, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/) also applies. These terms add to it; if they conflict, Apple's agreement takes precedence.

2. What Chopsmith is

Chopsmith trains guitar technique, step by step. It has a tuner, a metronome, a daily Warm-up, and Drills grouped into Skills and Stages. It can run an optional timing check with the microphone, and you can add passages from your own Guitar Pro files to My pieces and practise them like Drills.

3. Age

  • Chopsmith is not directed at children.
  • If you are under 18, you may use Chopsmith only with a parent's permission.

4. Chopsmith Pro subscription

  • Chopsmith Pro unlocks more than the free version of the app. What Pro includes and the current prices are shown on the purchase screen. Pro is sold as a monthly and a yearly subscription.
  • Apple handles purchase, renewal, cancellation and refunds. The subscription renews automatically for the same period, charged to your Apple account, unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends. If the price changes, Apple tells you in advance and asks for your consent where required. To cancel: iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
  • If a free trial is offered, it lasts as long as shown on the purchase screen. If you don't cancel before it ends, you'll be charged.
  • You can get your subscription back on another iPhone, or after reinstalling the app, with Restore purchase, using the same Apple ID.
  • If the subscription ends, the parts Pro unlocks are locked again; pieces you saved to My pieces before stay on your phone.
  • Refund requests go to Apple. Your statutory consumer rights are not affected.

5. Files you import

  • You confirm you have the right to use the Guitar Pro files you import into Chopsmith: you made the file, or you have permission to get and use it for personal use.
  • The files and the passages you save from them stay only on your phone; we don't see or receive them. All rights in this content stay with you or with its rights holders.

6. Prohibited use

You may not use Chopsmith for:

  • Importing or sharing content you don't have the right to use.
  • Copying the app's content (Drills, tabs, notation, texts), distributing it, or using it in another product.
  • Reverse engineering, trying to get around the Pro lock, or other abuse of the app.

If you break these rules, we may restrict your access to Chopsmith.

7. Tuner and timing check

  • The tuner and the timing check are estimates based on the sound the microphone hears. Background noise, the microphone or the instrument can make them wrong.
  • You decide your Clean Tempo; the timing check only helps you.

8. No guaranteed results

Chopsmith is a practice tool. We don't guarantee that you'll reach a particular speed or skill level in a particular time. Take breaks; if playing hurts, stop, and see a professional if needed.

9. Intellectual property

The app, Drills, design and the name "Chopsmith" belong to us or our licensors. You may not copy or sell Drill content, or use it in another product. You may freely play the Drills for your own practice.

10. Changes to the service

Features, Skills, Stages and Drills may change as we improve Chopsmith, and so may what is free and what is Pro. Purchases and restoring them need an internet connection and third-party services, and may at times be unavailable.

11. Limitation of liability

Chopsmith is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect damages, and our total liability is limited to what you paid for Chopsmith in the last 12 months. This limit doesn't apply to intent, gross negligence or consumer rights that can't be waived.

12. Changes and termination

We may change these terms and will tell you in the app about significant changes. You can stop using Chopsmith at any time by deleting it (you need to cancel your subscription separately with Apple).

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye. Mandatory consumer protections of the country where you live still apply.
